Diary of a Mum/Carer/Would Be Entrepreneur aged 58 (and a tiny bit)

Well where do I start today? Like all women, the above only covers a bit, as today as well the above I was garden designer, teacher, travel agent and laundry operative. First sign of sunshine today so in between working for Spectra, I had to nip to garden centre (I must admit my input was purely choosing plants) and being a good day and a bank Holiday the places were packed with hardly a parking space to be had. On the Continent on Sundays and holidays they all go out for big family meals we go to DIY stores. Then of course there is Kirsty’s revision to be done, she finds the subject LLW difficult as she doesn’t know how to extrapolate vital information from the texts. My job is to read all the work, pick out important bits and get her to write them on cards bought specifically for this purpose. I know she will not remember much of it, but easier for her if she only has cards to read with specific facts. My son is coming home next month so trying to book flight for him. Got a cheap one up yesterday which wouldn’t have broken the bank, but needed to check he could make the times. You would think that in this digital age it would be easy to get hold of someone who spends most of their time on computer and phone. Not a chance, I telephoned, sent text, messaged him on Facebook all to no avail. I did get him today but I haven’t checked price of flights yet as I am sure they will have gone up.
Enough of all that the idea of this diary is to keep you informed as to how business is going. It has been very busy two weeks, trying to find the fabrics, speak to manufactures, trying to get website and online shop ready. The old entrepreneur journey is not for the fainthearted although I would encourage anyone who has a business idea or a passion for a product to take the first step. I have had a lot of help and there are programmes out there to help you achieve your dream. (not so easy to get finance as still struggling).
I am really looking forward to Middletown’s 10th Anniversary Conference and to hear Temple Grandin. We will have a stand and I hope to have some of our t-shirts as well as the socks!!! We will also have final prototype which were made taking into account the feedback we have had. You will be able to order any items from the range and you will have them in plenty of time for the start of school. I will also be looking to expand our range so would love to hear from you regarding this.
If I can be of any assistance plead do not hesitate to get in touch as I love to hear from you and please like the page and share. I haven’t asked anyone to do this before but now is the right time as the end is in sight (only starting really) but am so pleased that our uniforms are going to be available for this year.
